The perfect Rotary Club member is someone
who wants to make Omokoroa a better place to live

Omokoroa Rotary was an idea put into action by our founding member, Bronwyn Carter. Inspired by the realisation that Omokoroa is on a fast trajectory — set to roughly double in size over the next decade — Bronwyn could see the need for a much stronger community presence capable of making Omokoroa a better and more cohesive place to live.

Each Rotary Club member brings different skills and attributes to our lively and action-oriented club. In our short time together, we have already facilitated many local projects and lent a hand to fellow clubs around the Bay of Plenty.

Our motto is "Service above self"

The Rotary Club of Omokoroa is a vibrant and growing club based on the beautiful Omokoroa Peninsula. We are a dedicated group of members, united under the worldwide umbrella of Rotary International — an organisation built on the motto “Service Above Self.”

We aim to make a positive difference in our community

Our mission is to make a positive difference — both in our local community and through international initiatives. One of Rotary International’s proud, long-standing goals is the global eradication of polio, and we are thrilled to be part of that effort. We welcome people from all walks of life and all ages. As a member, you can get involved at your own pace, contributing in ways that interest and inspire you — because together, we can accomplish so much more.

Omokoroa Rotary Club meetings

We meet fortnightly on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at our beautiful Omokoroa Boat Club.  Our meetings are very informal and relaxed over coffee.  Meetings usually run for about an hour to 90 minutes, and often those who have time stick around afterwards for a chat — about projects or just life in general.

Day & time:  1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, 8:00 am

Venue:  Omokoroa Boat Club (bar side)

Duration:  Approximately 1 to 1.5 hours

Summer break:  Brief break over Christmas and New Year

Visitors are welcome to come along to a meeting

Rotary welcomes men and women from all walks of life — professionals, business owners, managers, community leaders, and retirees. There is no single profile for a Rotarian. What matters most is a genuine desire to serve others and contribute positively to the community.

The Rotary Club of Omokoroa is a particularly diverse and welcoming club, with members ranging in age, background, and career experience. We are always looking for enthusiastic new members.

Membership fees cover your annual Rotary International and District subscriptions, as well as local club costs. The total varies by club but is generally very reasonable. At the Rotary Club of Omokoroa, we keep costs as accessible as possible.
